Donut Pump Floats

Highly customisable HDPE Donut pump floats to suit pumps 5 kW – 90 kW +. Float maintains pump height plus only 20 mm versus ≈ 600 mm for underside-bolt designs. One float fits 5 different pump sizes (5 / 8 / 18 / 20 / 37 kW) with insert rings supplied.

Engineered for working sites.

The Donut pump float is engineered to keep the pump protected, serviceable and recoverable — without adding height or width that complicates transport. Hi-vis yellow HDPE body with a thick-walled poly-pipe screen; impact-resistant, chemical-resistant, impervious to corrosion.

  • Pump lowers in from the top and sits inside a protective screen — no underside bolting
  • Maintains overall pump height plus only 20 mm (versus ≈ 600 mm for floats with the pump bolted underneath)
  • Insert rings supplied — one float fits 5 / 8 / 18 kW pumps; 20 kW and 37 kW need no rings
  • Perforated HDPE basket reduces cavitation and keeps debris and mud out of the intake
  • Easy to lift in and out for service; pump is not sitting in mud if the sump dries out
  • 4-point one-over-two lifting rigging — FEA-verified on every build
  • Inspection and ballasting ports for service access without lifting the float out

Reported outcome from gold-mining clients: pump servicing dropped from once every three months to once every twelve — the float keeps the pump above mud and debris that drives wear in the conventional install.

Reference projects: 3,200 × 3,030 mm donut float for a KSB 3-tonne 110 kW four-side bottom-discharge pump (operating reliably with no major maintenance since installation); 6.2 × 2.5 m pump install barge with HDPE pontoons and aluminium-frame deck — operational weight ~4 tonnes, with protective legs on the pontoons; centrifugal pump platform on twin pontoons with HDPE delivery piping and ballast. Custom builds from 5 kW up to 90 kW+ on standard floats; bespoke large-format builds beyond.

— Universal Best Seller —

The Polyline donut float is the universal best-seller of the range — designed to suit pumps up to 600 mm wide, with capacity up to 500 kg and a variable height range. Custom variants extend the same design language to bottom-discharge, side-discharge and engine-driven pumps from 5 kW to 90 kW and beyond.

  • Designed to suit pumps up to 600 mm wide
  • Capacity up to 500 kg on the standard donut
  • Variable height range — adjust freeboard for site conditions
  • Custom donut variants on request — engine-pump and bottom-discharge models

— Centrifugal & Superior Pump Flotation —

The Superior Pump Flotation system is engineered for the safe handling and prolonged lifespan of submersible pumps in challenging mining environments. HDPE construction, three separate ballast chambers and a maintenance-free design — built to transform your submersible pump experience.

  • Superior corrosion resistance — full HDPE construction
  • UV stability — decades of reliable service under direct sunlight
  • Precise ballast control — three separate ballast chambers fine-tune flotation level
  • Lightweight versus traditional steel alternatives — reduced strain during handling and install
  • Maintenance-free operation — no periodic upkeep required

Reference variants: PF.110KW.4S engineered for a 4-side discharge 110 kW pump (large-format build); donut to suit Pump Eng 11 kW (CT41L1000); standard donut covering 5 kW – 90 kW+ pump fleet with insert rings.

— Anatomy of the Donut Pump Float —

  • Lifting Lugs with Shackles — 4-point one-over-two lift, FEA-verified on every build
  • Inspection / Ballasting Ports — service access without lifting the float out
  • Shore Ties — keep the float on station
  • Basket Brace — internal stiffener resists impact
  • Bottom Discharge Hose — removable, optional accessory
  • Mud-Clearance Foot — keeps intake clear of silt
  • Perforated Basket — reduces cavitation, keeps debris and mud out of the intake
