Problem: an aluminium intake was corroding, with drop-outs at low tide and a dry-dock cycle every two years.
Solution: self-buoyant HDPE floating intake screen, 2.2 × 2.3 m Shallow Sucker variant, self-contained and self-levelling.
- No coatings, no paint — HDPE is inert and immune to electrolysis
- Buoyant collar follows the water level
- Visual inspections on site instead of dry-dock
